Ben was born June 21, 1955, in Beaver, Iowa. He completed both his undergraduate and legal studies at the University of Iowa.

Following graduation from law school, Ben joined the firm of Doran, Doran, Courter & Quinn in Boone, Iowa and has remained with the firm to the present time.  He has maintained a general practice, including significant practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, wills and trusts, real estate law, and family law.

Ben is a member and past president of the Boone County Bar Association and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association.
